Get the personalization you need

When searching for the right Medicare supplement policy to fit your individual needs, it can be hard to know where to find the answers to your questions, as well as who you can trust. When you choose Go Medigap, you can enter your ZIP code to find information that pertains to your specific state and region. Furthermore, there is a place on the site where you can go to request to speak to a live agent. So if you feel lost wading through a sea of information, you can take heart knowing that a representative will be happy to call you back and walk you through it all.

You might ask yourself why you even need Medigap coverage in the first place. Perhaps you are like so many American who think that Medicare is enough coverage to fit all your needs. It is important that you understand that Medicare coverage was not designed to cover all your medical expenses when you reach the age for eligibility. Will you be stuck in a sub-standard care facility because you cannot afford in home care, or the care you desire at the facility of your choosing? Will you have to pay costly copayments for care you receive, or expensive deductibles out of your own pocket because you lack the resources available through the right supplemental plan? These questions should make you think. You should be concerned about the answers, as well as the impact that your action or inaction now will have on our future, and the future of your loved ones.

That is why it is so critical that you find the Medicare supplement policy that is right for you and obtain that coverage before you need it. If you wait until that unplanned emergency or accident, it is already too late. Your loved ones will be saddled with expenses that otherwise could’ve been avoided. Knowing the facts about supplemental coverage is critical in making the right decision for you and your family. So many families leave their futures to chance with disastrous consequences. Take this opportunity as a wake up call. Check out the options available to you now at Go Medigap. Do it for yourself. Do it for your family. Do it now and avoid becoming a statistic. This is a step that only you can take to protect yourself and your family. Choosing the right plan really could make all the difference in the world.

Choosing the right Medicare supplement policy

With so much to worry about these days, you shouldn’t have to waste your time wondering if you have adequate Medigap coverage. Choosing the right Medigap coverage to meet your individual needs is so important. That’s why you need to know where to turn to get answers to your Medicare supplement policy questions. When you visit Go Medigap, you will be introduced to a wealth of information about what Medicare in all its forms actually covers; what areas you will need to get supplemental coverage for, and how to determine which policy will provide you with the best coverage for your money. Because it is a private, supplemental insurance policy that covers a great portion of the expenses that Medicare doesn’t cover, it is critical to investigate the costs and benefits of the different plans offered by the different companies out there. Having a central location like Go Medigap that explains all the options helps you put it all in perspective and make the best decisions.

Never has one generation been so responsible for so much. Right now, the decisions you make or don’t make have the ability to affect your children and their children for years to come. Will you protect your assets and your legacy so that your children and grandchildren can inherit all that you worked for and saved for? Or will you neglect your responsibility to obtain a Medicare supplement policy and end up in a third-rate nursing care facility for the remainder of your years? Will you have adequate coverage to help you handle unexpected, unforeseen expenses related to hospitalizations, costly treatments for cancer or heart conditions, or some other ailment? Will your spouse or children be required to shoulder the burden of your medical costs because you didn’t act, or you didn’t get the best policy for your individual needs?

We are often afraid of what we don’t understand. If you don’t understand what Medicare supplement policy you have and what benefits you are entitled to through it, you have every reason to be afraid of the future. Knowledge is power and can mean the difference between leaving this world in peace, knowing you made the right choices in this critical area, or, spending your last days wondering how much undue stress, pain and suffering could have been avoided for you and your family, if only you had taken the time to pick the right plan.

A Medicare supplement policy can make a huge difference

If you passed away tomorrow, would your loved ones be able to pick up the pieces? Of course they would be left behind, and their lives would have to go on. But how challenging would it be for them to move forward when faced with unexpected medical expenses, like costly medications and deductibles for hospitalizations, and copayments on expensive, but necessary medications? It is a shame that more seniors don’t think that far ahead. They don’t think of how their death will affect those they love most in the world. Whether you are a wife or husband, a mother or father, a sister or brother, the time to consider how the decisions you make today will directly impact those around you. That is why it is so important to consider a Medicare supplement policy to complement your Medicare plan. Medicare doesn’t cover all of your medical expenses. It was never designed to. In fact, there are many expenses that aren’t covered in the least by a traditional government Medicare plan. When you visit Go Medigap, you will get a detailed explanation about what the various plans through Medicare have to offer you, as well as information about supplemental policies that you can purchase to work with your Medicare coverage.

Before it is too late, it is important that you thoroughly investigate and understand your options, and act on them to purchase the supplement plan that is right for you and your family. You should also encourage those around you to find the plans that are right for them. It could make all the difference in the world for your children’s children and their children. The benefits of your wisdom can be felt on a multigenerational level. Tomorrow’s seniors will work more years than we did and will have fewer benefits, leaving them with very real and awesome challenges. It is important for today’s seniors to pave the way to make it easier on our children, as well as to set an example by purchasing a Medicare supplement plan. A report from the National Bipartisan Commission on the Future of Medicare states that: “As the Medicare system itself faces financial troubles, Medicare beneficiaries also face higher costs. Today, beneficiaries pay nearly 30 percent of their health care costs from their own pockets. In 1995, those costs averaged $2,563 per person to pay for premiums, services and products not covered by Medicare. In the future, out-of-pocket costs are expected to rise.” This rise is attributed to soaring medical costs and fewer workers paying into the system to cover the Medicare costs for retirees.

Seniors should prepare now for tomorrow

My uncle died last year. He was 80 and had lived in a state-run nursing home for about 10 years. He never thought to get Medicare supplement insurance and I saw him and his family suffer because of it. My aunt struggled with how to cover the ever-growing mountain of bills from co-payments and hospitalizations. There was so much that Medicare just didn’t cover. It was stressful for the whole family. My cousins often stepped in to help my aunt pay her bills. And seeing my uncle living in the nursing home was a painful experience. He wasn’t happy and neither was anyone else. He wanted to be home with my aunt. If he had purchased a Medicare supplement policy, he might have been able to live at home longer and receive in-home nursing care. But the family couldn’t afford that option and the constant care really took its toll on my aunt and cousins. In fact, my aunt had a nasty fall trying to help my uncle out of bed and broke her collar bone. That was when the family made the difficult decision to put Uncle Pete in the home. And my Aunt Susie now suffers from arthritis in her shoulder and back. She also incurred medical expenses due to the fall, including co-payments and deductibles for a hospitalization, treatment and subsequent physical therapy.

Sometimes I think people just automatically assume that Medicare will take care of everything when they are eligible to receive it. That is an inaccurate and dangerous assumption. I found out about Go Medigap when I did some research on Medicare supplement insurance. This search was prompted by seeing what my aunt and uncle and their children were going through. Their grandchildren even witnessed some of the pain their parents were going through, which should not have had to happen. It is a sad reality that most seniors will encounter some type of serious health issue in their later years. Prostate, breast, lung and other forms of cancer, heart disease, strokes and heart attacks, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes and myriad other illnesses are tragic and devastating enough for individuals and their families. At least by having a Medicare supplement plan, you can take control of your future and better prepare for what might come. It can save you, your spouse and your family a great deal of misery and pain, as well as worry over financial concerns from deductibles, co-payments, costly medications and other expenses that, many times, you don’t even think about until it’s too late.

Know your Medicare Supplement Insurance options

If you are shopping around for Medicare Supplement Insurance to enhance your Medicare Part A or Part B coverage, you can visit Go Medigap for real answers.  The site has a section dedicated to information about supplemental insurance, under the category Medicare Supplement Guides.  You can investigate supplemental coverage by state and learn what types of policies might best fit your individual needs.  Companies can tailor policies to reflect your specific requirements. It is a great way to gain peace of mind and maintain control over your life and health during your later years.

Through Go Medigap, you can have all your questions about federal Medicare coverage and supplemental plans answered quickly and in a way that you can understand.  You can see how each plan directly applies to your life and circumstances. Sometimes the choices we make concerning Medicare Supplement Plans can seem overwhelming, and sifting through a sea of information can be a daunting task.  After all, the decision you make in this critical area can influence not only the course of your life, but also the lives of your loved ones for years to come.  Medicare was never meant to be a complete program to pick up the cost of all of your medical expenses.  Unfortunately, that is a misconception among some seniors. It is important to know what Medicare plan provides what coverage, and to consider what your incidental coverage needs will be.

Whether you choose Medicare Part A or Medicare Part B to provide your initial coverage, there are still out-of-pocket costs you will have to cover, including coinsurance, co-payments, deductibles and other gaps.  Supplemental plans are designed to help reduce these gaps and make health insurance more affordable for those 65 and older.  Under Part A you can expect assistance paying for inpatient hospital care, as well as some skilled nursing facility care and hospice care, and home health expenses.  Along with a required deductible under this plan, you can expect to pay out-of-pocket co-payments for hospital stays and the 60 days that follow your release from the hospital.  The co-payment for days 61-90 is $267 per day, which can add up quickly. And at 91 days and beyond, you can expect to pay $512 per day out of pocket. Under Part B you can expect help paying for services provided by doctors, as well as outpatient hospital care and some medical services that are not covered by Part A.

These are some of the many harsh realities seniors must face when relying on the Medicare system to pay for health expenses.  That is why it is so important to get a supplement plan that is tailored to your specific needs.  Check out Go Medigap before you have to make difficult financial decisions that you could have avoided in order to meet ever-growing health care expenses.

Medicare Supplements Just Make Sense

Are you a senior looking for the right Medicare Supplement Insurance? Look no further than gomedigap.com. You can compare Medicare Supplement Insurance providers and Medigap policies, as well as learn about the differences between the different Medicare plans available. Learn whether Medicare Part A or Medicare Part B is the right choice for you and what you can do to protect yourself and your assets. Because no Medicare plan covers all health-related expenses, it is important to understand what your responsibilities are under each part of Medicare, in terms of coinsurance, co-payments, deductibles and other out-of-pocket expenses. Gomedigap.com offers real answers to your questions, and real guidance as to how to determine which Medicare plan and supplement insurance is the best fit for you and your family.

Too often, seniors face the unexpected—an unexpected illness or fall, leading to expensive and physically taxing chemotherapy and radiation treatments or a fractured hip. There are no guarantees in life, as you well know by the time you reach your Golden Years. Will you have to stay in the hospital for an extended period of time? Will you require care at a skilled care facility, or a lengthy stay in a nursing home? What type of nursing home can you afford? Will your supplemental insurance plan help offset the costs you would otherwise pay if you only had Medicare coverage? How much will you have to cover out of pocket before Medicare takes care of the rest? Is there a maximum annual or lifetime amount to your benefits? You can visit gomedigap and have all your questions answered on the frequently asked questions page, or by contacting someone through e-mail to have your questions answered personally.

There are so many unanswered questions. You owe it to yourself to get as many answers as you can before the unexpected happens and catches you and your loved ones completely off guard. If you had a stroke, could you receive in-home care, or would your supplemental insurance only cover nursing home care or care in a skilled nursing setting? Don’t you think you should be able to determine in advance how you want to be treated and by whom, before those decisions are made for you and without your consent? People are living longer today than they ever have. As such, it makes good sense to prepare for your later years to make them as rich and full as possible. It would be tragic if the choices you make now limit your future options.

Strongly Consider Medicare Supplement Plans

As a senior, I was unsure what kind of supplemental insurance coverage I needed. I have been a Medicare recipient for several years now and I have been blessed as a healthy person. It has never been necessary for me to pay a lot out of pocket. Last year, a friend of mine broke his hip in a nasty fall. He is a Medicare recipient, too, and he carries Medicare Supplement Insurance. During his treatment and rehabilitation, he had to stay in a skilled nursing care facility. He was also placed on a strict drug regimen, which included blood thinners and other drugs that required his blood levels to be constantly monitored. Visiting him and talking to him, I learned how Medicare wasn’t covering all or even a good portion of the expenses. Hal said he was so thankful for his Medicare supplemental insurance. It was then that I realized I, too, needed to get some type of supplemental coverage. I needed to do it for myself, as well as for my wife, children and grandchildren. When I am gone, I want to leave them with something to make their lives easier. I want to protect everything I have worked so hard for through the years.

When I first started investigating plans, I did not know where to turn. Then, I talked to Hal and discovered he went through gomedigap.com. I decided to check out the site and I am so glad that I did. I was so impressed with the thoroughness of the site. All my questions were answered; all the plans available were explained, as well as Medicare and its parts. It was a wealth of information that I still refer to today. I didn’t know that Medicare was designed to pay only some of the health care expenses of those who qualify for it. I didn’t realize all the gaps that exist and that the deductibles go up each year.

So far, I continue to be very blessed when it comes to my health, my family and my life circumstances. But if something happens to change my circumstances, I will be prepared to handle it. A Medicare supplement plan is an important way to help minimize your out-of-pocket expenses in case you end up in the hospital for an extended period, or heaven forbid in a nursing home or skilled care facility. A plan can help reduce the cost of services, supplies and other medically necessary care “extras” that you don’t plan on.

Finding Medicare Supplement Insurance

Finding the right plan for Medicare Supplemental insurance is a confusing yet important task for anyone who depends on Medicare for their insurance needs. Since the government sponsored insurance system does not cover all costs of healthcare, supplemental insurance fills the gap between health cost and what Medicare will cover. But because there are many providers offering supplemental insurance, understanding the plans can be confusing. However, there are actually 12 different types of supplemental insurance offered, and these 12 plans are the exact same, no matter who is providing them. To receive Medicare supplemental insurance, you already have to be receiving Medicare, either part A or part B.

There are three different ways the cost of supplemental insurance. These three methods are Attained Age, Community Related and Issue Age. Attained age is the least attractive choice. It costs less in the beginning, but it is based on a person’s age, so it will rise over the years. Community Related premiums are based on the cost of the premiums of other patients in the area. And, Issue Age is set by the person’s age in the beginning and does not rise. Both Community Related and Issue Age premiums cost more in the beginning; they are by far the best choices in the long run.

The 12 supplemental insurance plans can be quite confusing, so it is important to find an Insurance representative with whom you feel comfortable. The representative should be very knowledgeable of the supplemental insurance plans and be able to explain them to you in a way you understand. Keep in mind that the insurance premiums should be the same, no matter with which you do business, so do not let someone tell you that they offer better prices.

No matter which Medicare Supplemental Insurance you choose, be sure to weigh out the positives and the negatives of the plan. Talk them over with your insurance representative and make sure you understand what you are purchasing. This insurance is also called “Medigap” insurance, and you may hear that term when doing research. There are plenty of resources that go over the twelve plans that will help you understand them better also. The supplemental insurance will prove invaluable in the days to come, and you want to make sure you make the right choice.

Supplemental Insurace and the Senior Citizen - A Review

Several months ago, we discussed the importance of maintaining supplemental insurance as a senior citizen. However, most seniors still have countless questions surrounding the need for supplemental insurance. We have decided to recap the ins and outs of Medicare supplement insurance.

Do you fully understand your Medicare insurance and the coverage you have? Are you aware that Medicare may not cover your medical needs and medical financial responsibilities? Have you heard of Medicare Supplement Insurance and the benefits this coverage has to offer? Well, sit back and become informed on the coverage that may mean the difference between financial heartache and financial ease.

Medicare insurance coverage is designed to offer senior citizens as well as some individuals with certain disabilities medical insurance and assistance in paying for their medical needs. While this is a major help, there are times when it will not be enough coverage to enable you the medical treatment you desire or need. Medicare Supplement insurance will pick up where Medicare leaves off.

Medicare Supplement insurance is designed specifically to financially support you where Medicare leaves off. Medicare Supplement insurance has the same qualifications as your Medicare insurance has, however if Medicare is not enough you can rely on your supplement insurance to help out. It is important however to verify that your current care provider will accept Medicare Supplement insurance as well as the additional insurance will accept claims for certain treatments you require. You will find that most of your financial worries for you or your families care can be laid to rest with acquiring this additional insurance coverage.

You will no longer have to worry about the next doctor visit or testing required due to lack of money due to being on a fixed income. Utilize your available options and no longer carry the unnecessary financial burden of your medical needs. Ask your current insurance carrier or online specialist for the information required to ensure you have the full medical insurance coverage available to you.

While there are still qualifications required to be able to receive Medicare Supplement insurance chances are if you have Medicare you will be able to receive the additional assistance that you will have with carrying Medicare Supplement insurance as well.

Go Medigap explains your options

We live in a different world than our parents did. The high and ever-escalating costs of health care should make it very clear that when it comes to health insurance for seniors today and tomorrow, Medicare alone simply will not cut it. While Medicare helps cover many of the costs associated with medical care in a person’s advanced years, it does not come close to covering everything. Furthermore, you are not eligible for a great deal of the coverage until you have used the majority of your personal savings and assets. This means what you plan to leave behind for your children likely will not be there when you are gone, leaving them with the burden of funding your funeral expenses, among other things. While Medicare is a health insurance program through the federal government for individuals who are 65 and older, and those with qualifying disabilities, it leaves many “gaps” when it comes to coverage. Regardless of whether your coverage falls under Medicare Part A or Medicare Part B, you should understand that neither plan is enough, and purchasing a supplemental plan is a wise move. Medicare supplement plans are offered through AARP, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Mutual of Omaha and many other reputable companies. You need to investigate the options now, before it is too late to take advantage of them.

There is an open enrollment period during which time your ability to purchase a Medicare supplement policy is guaranteed. That time period is the six months from the first day of the month in which you, the beneficiary, turn 65 or older and enroll in Medicare Part B. During that time, your current or past medical conditions are irrelevant. You cannot be denied Medicare supplement insurance for any reason. Based on your personal needs and preferences, you can select a Medigap plan that is best suited to you. Because this is a critical decision, you should take the time to have all your questions answered by representatives from the different companies you are considering obtaining coverage through. It is important to think about the costs and benefits of any policy you consider implementing. Additionally, your personal economic situation and current health condition are factors that will influence the plan you choose. No question is irrelevant or inappropriate. You need to know all the facts before you make a critical decision, such as which policy to choose. That is why if you visit Go Medigap, you will be directed to a list of frequently asked questions and a supply of relevant information to make your research and selection processes as smooth and seamless as possible.
